UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2012 Certification

General Membrane has for some time pursued an environmental policy for the sustainability of production processes and for monitoring its impact on the territory.
In this context the company has decided to evaluate over time its "climate footprint" or "carbon footprint".

This type of study quantitatively expresses the effects produced on the climate by the so-called greenhouse gases generated by an organization, be it a producer of goods or services, and is an environmental indicator that measures the impact of human activities on the global climate.

The study of the General Membrane Carbon Footprint was realized and certified by the SGS third party according to the international standard UNI EN ISO 14064 -1: 2012.

In April 2014 General Membrane received the last document related to a path that the Company started in 2011, and which is aimed at a continuous improvement of the effect of production activity on the environment. The report drafted is in fact the updating of the Carbon Footprint analysis document with the production data of 2013, which are compared to the production data of the 2011 study.

The analysis of General Membrane Carbon Footprint has allowed a complete understanding of the effects that each single step of the Company's production cycle has on the environment - from the supply of raw materials to disposal, at the end of the product life cycle - and made it possible to define the objectives for improving the environmental impact and to accurately measure the improvements achieved with each intervention.
